NatPharm operates across six service areas — from procurement and warehousing to distribution, manufacturing, commercial supply and agency services — ensuring every health facility in Zimbabwe has access to quality, affordable medicines.
6 Service Areas
Medicines Procurement
Developing annual procurement plans and managing acquisition of quality medicines and medical supplies using appropriate, efficient methods from a wide network of world-renowned manufacturers and distributors.
Warehousing & Storage
Six warehouses across Zimbabwe totalling 30,048 sq metres of storage, with additional facilities under construction. All depots are compliant with WHO Good Storage Practice including cold-chain areas.
Distribution & Logistics
A fleet of 30 specialised logistics vehicles (minimum 8-tonne capacity) distributing medicines and medical supplies to service delivery points across all provinces, including last-mile facilities.
Manufacturing
Establishing pharmaceutical production units in line with the National Development Strategy II, in collaboration with local State Universities under the Education 5.0 policy for technology transfer and development.
Commercial Unit
Supplying quality, safe and affordable medicines to registered pharmaceutical wholesalers and retailers accredited with MCAZ. Formed in 2005, the unit influences private sector pricing through affordable, high-quality alternatives.
Agency & Distributorship
Marketing and distributing medicines and medical supplies under franchise arrangements on behalf of manufacturers, including pursuing sole distributorship contracts for non-communicable disease medicines in high demand.
